Where Do I Store My Digital Content?

Nov. 08, 2018

Do you know how to store the digital content in the digital signage player box? let us know about it!

Content Management Systems (CMS) typically store digital content on the Internet or on the media player itself (or "local").

Internet: Content can be updated via a website or software program. You don't need to touch the media player to update what's running on it. Typically, the CMS will "cache" content downloaded from the Internet on the media player itself, so if the internet connection is lost, the media player will still have the content to display.

Local: Content is stored on the media player itself, such as on a hard drive. To update the content you need to manually access the media player.

Network: Some enterprise digital signage software solutions require you to provide the server with a content server on the local network locally.

It's always easier to store digital content on the Internet unless your media player is in an area that doesn't have access to the Internet.
